REVEREND ANTHONY JOHNSON JR.
Reverend Anthony Johnson is a native of Seaford, Delaware and currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. There he attended and graduated the public-school system. Upon graduation, he pursued higher education at the University of Delaware. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Education and Public Policy, minored in History and specialized in Community Services. He then pursued his Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Faith Christian University and Schools.
Rev. Johnson was licensed as a local minister in 2009, after delivering his initial sermon at the Courts of Praise Christian Church. He was catechized and ordained in 2012 under the Ark United Christian Community Churches, Incorporated. In 2015, Elder Johnson was installed as the Executive Pastor and Minister of Music of Courts of Praise Christian Church. In addition to working within his home church, he serves as musician for other churches in the Metropolitan area. Alongside his many roles, Pastor Johnson is also an entrepreneur, having founded The Ministry for You, L.L.C. which specializes in providing wedding officiant services, marriage and family, counseling, and provides musicians for nearly any event. Through The Ministry for You, L.L.C., he routinely serves the states of Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia, Virginia and Pennsylvania, and surrounding vicinities. He and his company take pleasure in helping create a dream come true experience for brides and grooms, as well as educating them on marriage after the wedding day. As a certified counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors, he mentors many of his current and former students, advises couples that he marries and facilitates sessions for families who need help navigating challenges of life.
Pastor Johnson extends ministry beyond the walls of the church and into his career. He is an experienced teacher spending over 20 years in the classroom. Presently, Pastor Johnson is a Music Educator and is the grade level chair for his team at KIPP DC. Among many of his proud associations, Pastor Johnson is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity Incorporated.
Mr. Johnson has been quoted to say, “As long as I live, it’s my goal to be a good example and to exhibit love and compassion, as Christ teaches. I am far from perfect, but as a minister and Christian, without a doubt, I will do my best to be an example for others.”
